I have just created a save file in my dev library on an as400 machine using the CRTSAVF command and also saved some of the objects in the save file using the command SAVOBJ and now I must copy the save file to IFS.

You can copy the save file to ifs using the CPYTOSTMF command. The syntax of the Copy-to-stream file command is as follows:
CPYTOSTMF FROMMBR('/qsys.lib/libname.lib/savefile.file')
TOSTMF('/home/tester/savefile.savf')
STMFOPT(*REPLACE)
Pass the fully qualified save file name in the
FROMMBR
parameter and pass thepath/filename
in theTOSTMF
parameter. This command will copy the save file present in the library to the ifs path. Please use the CPY command in as400 to copy the save file to ifs.
CPY OBJ('/qsys.lib/libname.lib/savefilename.file')
TODIR('/home/developer)
REPLACE(*YES)
Here, we are copying the save file present in the library to the ifs user home path and replacing the file if exists on ifs.
When copying a SAVF in a library to ifs please always use the “.file” extension.
You can copy the save file to IFS using the integrated file system in Access Client Solutions (ACS). Follow the below steps:
/qsys.lib/library.lib/
and press Enter to locate and open the save file library.
